LET’S TAKE A BREAK

Is a “relationship break” a way to reignite a couple—or just an excuse to soften the end of a relationship, conveniently boosting the bank account of the latest social media therapist?

For forty-year-old Fabrizio, it’s an emotional disaster that hides something deeper; for his partner Valeria, it’s an opportunity. For Valter, nearing sixty, it’s an unacceptable wrong imposed by his wife Fiorella—whom he’s been married to for thirty years—while for her, it’s a necessity.

For nineteen-year-old Erica, it’s just a bump in the road; for her boyfriend Gabriel, whom she met online, it’s a shield to conceal his search for identity.

Three couples, six souls—each forced to confront themselves, each other, and love.

But can you really reflect on love? Who can say? Certainly not the disarmed protagonists of this comedy, which explores its limits, idiosyncrasies, naiveties, emotional surges, and small misdeeds—each of them guilty of loving.

The film sets out to explore a moment that all of us have experienced—or imposed—at least once in our lives, always with a kind and playful взгляд, and, ultimately, with the simple desire to smile.
