WHEREVER YOU ARE

March 2008. Four friends. Francesco, Carlo, Loco and Giordano, soccer fans and Roma fans decide to go to see their favorite team away in Madrid against Real for the Champions League round of 16. They leave Rome for Santander and arrive in Madrid in four days, taking the trip as a pretext to experience Francesco’s bachelor party, but above all to make, as has happened before, a trip together. On their way they cross paths with Pilar, a beautiful Spanish singer who unwittingly wreaks havoc within a close-knit group, encouraging doubts and diversity to surface. “Wherever You Will Be” is a comedy that is mainly about friendship and love, travel and hope, full of extremely funny but also conflicting implications and dynamics of a close-knit group where soccer, told in its essence of game and passion, is the frame. The usual point of view is turned upside down and the protagonists are no longer teams and footballers but become four boys who, like so many, for soccer suffer, rejoice and live it with a purity and a hint of irrationality proper to every fan, beyond their individual affiliation. But cheering is only a metaphor for their lives; as in a mirror the four protagonists had reflected each other with their dreams, hopes, fears and philosophies of life. A journey that, as often happens, also becomes a crossroads for the four protagonists who find themselves, for different reasons, at a crucial point in their existence.
After countless vicissitudes, ours reach Madrid, the final destination of the journey, different from how they started, the journey and what it has brought into their lives and their relationship proves more important than the final outcome of a match they have been waiting for forever.

And afterwards nothing will be the same as before.
